I spoke with Ron at fiber concepts in Pennsylvania he told me to post on nasty Z 28, to get info on thr clearance we have a 572 GM crate motor in our 73Z 28 wanna know if anyone has used his L88 hood with that set up or even a three or 4 inch cowl hood looking for info so I can order the right hood once also laid at 6 foot level across fender to fender it measured 2& three-quarter inches at the back of the air cleaner and 4 1/2 inches at the front of the air cleaner if those dimensions help any input would be appreciated thank you Also the air cleaner is the low type

A BBC with a performance intake manifold and cleaner will not fit with a flat hood. I ran my 454 with a drop base cleaner with a Edelbrock performer and got away with a 2-1/2" Cowl hood.

The 572 uses a 10.200" tall deck block, so that doesn't help with hood clearance either.
Thank you for the reply how much space did you have from the air cleaner to the top of the hood on the inside
Thanks for the reply we do have a drop base air cleaner just trying to get some input from someone that may have a 572 to see what they did for a scoop wanted to go with a L 88 with Rob from fiber glass concepts wasn’t sure if it would fit so looking for options thanks

I used a 3" cowl hood on mine with a drop base for the air cleaner, using a Holley 4150 on a Wieand Action Plus intake, and the wingnut on top was @ 1/2" from touching the hood.
