how is this thing? I have a chance to pick one up for a good deal...I've been trying to find an RPM air gap all over (second hand) as that's what I've been reading in all the magazine builds, but now strongly considering this GMPP...also, if I'm going to run it with a CC 280H, is it a bad idea to go with a dual plane?

Google is your friend; google vortec 12486570 and you'll get several hits.

Just a somewhat informed hunch: perhaps the GM intake is manufactured by Edelbrock and (although lacking the GM EGR) is patterned after their performer 2116 ...

published 2116 pad specs: Manifold ht: A-3.87", B-5.28"; Carb pad height: 4.57"

From Summit Q&A. I tried to snip the whole thing, don't know why it's so small.

Here's the verbiage; Chevrolet Performance 12496820 intake manifold has a front height of 3 3/4 in. and a rear height of 5 1/4 in. to the carburetor flange.

Very similar dimensions; however, I'll continue to rely on manufacturers' published specs before sellers'
