And also it is "not usual" axle. There is 33 splines. Previous owner tells me that this is 70 Chevell rear end, but Chevells are with rear coil springs, not with leaf springs.

The differential parts may have come from a Chevelle but put into a Camaro rear housing. Bummer on the welding. I can braze pretty good but can't arc weld worth a darn.

From the pictures, it looks like you'll have a good car for here, much less eastrern Europe, and not just Russia. A little tip though. Enjoy your beer but enjoy it after you're done. When I was racing back in the 70's, the strip we usually ran at required a windshield on everything except the pro classes. We were wrenching one night and there were a few too many beers emptied. One of the guys was having trouble getting a bolt to start and he threw a wrench. Which hit the intake and then the windshield. There went the windshield.

the rear axle seal you need for your car is a national seal part number is 8660S this is for any chevelle or camaro rear end . any American auto store will have this unless you have an auto parts store that can order or has the seal.

Guys I'm thinking all day long about rear axle!
I doubt that I have correctly identified that tubes are cast iron or steel yet.
How can I really understand that!?:whine:

I'll go out on a limb and say the tubes ARE steel, not pot metal!

    Merry Christmas!
