Since I have some time to work on the 406 and change heads and other thing for the next phase of this project, I think I am going to slide my 358 since it's done back in for a test day or two. It ran about the same as this 406 has with a slightly better mph (no biggie) but now with the roller can and a dual plane 300-36, I am ready to see if it improves the times and maybe put a little hurt on his 69 Camaro. He He.

You should tell him that you are running a little 0.030 over 283

Ya he's pretty good about knowing what I have. We'll see if he notices the change.

Please let us know how that works out for you 1980RS, will be interesting how the 358 does compared to the 406.

You say the 358 "now with a roller cam", does that mean it was a flat tappet before, if so did you go from solid to solid, or hyd to hyd?.

Yes, it was an Elgin flat tappet 1090 cam and I went with the Engle .600 lift 256° on a 108 Lca. It was not right for my other 406 at the time and that 406 had so much low end power all I did that day was spin the tires that day. Car was all over the track, I thought right there this is the perfect 350 Roller cam, so that's why I am giving it a shot. Plus I have all this stuff sitting around, might as well have some fun with it.
