if that car IS a real SS then please do not slather it with bondo
it would be worth THOUSANDS in it's current condition
Actually, that car doesn't look that bad. Sure see a lot worse being rebuilt these days.
It looks to me that the car has the standard non-hideaway wiper motor on it. An SS should have the hideaway wipers as part of the package.
I'm guessing it is an RS, but not an SS.
Check the rear end to see if it is a 10 bolt or a 12 bolt.
I forgot the best pic... If you notice from the pics, the rear end and tranny are MIA.
RS would also have hideaway wipers and taillights don't look to be RS either. Someone could have changed the front end at some point. Still the price is right!
Solid frame rails and decent body panels. Certainly a nice candidate for reserection.
You would think, but I have seen many solid cars with this issue to include my own. The rest of the car is solid, but a victim of a leaking windshield trapping water into that corner.
Very cool car to get, especially for free! I'd get that thing home before he changes his mind. There are a lot of good valuable parts on that thing still. The holes in the front fenders are for Rally sport badges. The location of them looks wrong. They should be below the body line, not above it. The holes below the rally sport script were for the engine badge. Either 350 or 402 I believe. If it was a SS car and those fenders were original to it, it would have had SS badges and not the rally sport script. The SS badge has fewer holes. 2 instead of 4. Either way, nice score!
