Looking to buy a trans number is 3952646 is this cast iron transmission a good one or poo? I always liked the Muncie m20 because you always get the hole shot on everyone at a stop light. Guy wants 100.00 no shifter or bell housing

I don’t know what condition it’s in but for 100.00 I figured I would grab it but I have a Muncie m20 in my 1965 el Camino already with a 305 and 671 supercharger I also have a 302 Chevy engine rebuilt with edelbrock victor manifold and 750 holly. I would like to put the blower on that engine but I can’t way to much compression. So I figured for 1200.00 I would pickup that trans complete with clutch and hurst shifter and bell housing.

From what I can find, that tranny is the heavy duty 3 speed offered in the SS Chevelles. It has a 2.42 1st gear, 1.58 2nd gear, and 1:1 3rd gear.
    By comparison, the M20 Muncie has a 2.52 1st gear, 1.88 2nd gear, 1.46 3rd gear, and 1:1 4th gear.

For driving, the 1st gear on those two trannys would be very similar.
