    Hi all,

New member here. Kind of ironic that I'm making my first post as we're getting a major snowstorm, and kind of hilarious that people actually drove our cars in the winter.

I've got a '72 Z28 tribute. Started off life as a grocery getter with an L65 350 and a TH350 trans. Today it's a somewhat more potent 350 with a Borg Warner wide ratio 4 spd and a 3:73 rear end. Didn't receive much info from the seller about the engine, but it pulls up to 7,000 rpm, so I'll dyno it this summer for fun.

Full disclosure...I'm a buyer rather than a builder but I'm a car lover just the same.

Have been toying with the idea of a Blueprint 400 sbc but have decided that it's probably wiser to have a good tranny guy check out the tranny and the rear end before I go dropping a ton more power into the car. And I also want to look at either upgrading the steering box or going to a rack & pinion set-up.

A new engine will probably be the last thing I do.

It's great to be here. I have found helpful info and discussions a number of times on this site since buying my car in Sept 2017. I don't know how much insight I can offer, but I'll do my best to be a positive addition to your community.

    Cheers,
    Thomas

Here we go, including Saturday morning at Back to the Bricks to watch the cars roll in. Photo with blacked out plate is the pic with the dealer plate from the test drive.

I've done new rubber, Hotchkis front upper and lower control arms, Ridetech shocks and springs, Dakota Digital (analog white on black) gauge cluster, new front seat foams, Holley 670, Pro Billet ignition, Vintage Air, new tires and a Bluetooth stereo since taking possession in Sept 2017.

    Thanks Chevyforever.
You're the original owner of yours since 1980? Wow, that's impressive!
