I am looking for the upper alt bracket. Ive had several different used brackets not fit my engine. The engine code is K01 03 CTL, my decoding shows it originally in a 1972 Monte Carlo 350. Its got a Long water pump and I have a Edlebrock performer intake on it. Ive looked on Ebay for the right one using "1972 monte carlo 350" as my search criteria, But the measurements (bolt hole to bolt hole) dont match what I have. I tried the Classic industries, 1969-1975 SBC upper alt bracket PN 3932410, And the only hole I can get to line up is the boss on the water pump, but then the geometry is off to accept the Alternator.
Anyone have more knowledge on this?

You need the bracket that came on later model 2nd gen Camaro's and I'm sure other Chevrolet's in the later 70's into the 80's. I can tell you an oem bracket from an 81 Z28 with a 305 fits your intake and water pump as it was what I used on my car with the threaded hole in the aftermarket intake in front of the thermostat. Don't have a close up of it as I sold my 71z28 2 weeks ago. It had a Holley 300-36 street dominator intake on it with the long water pump.

Ive messed with the original power steering pump brackets and got them to work, id hate to go aftermarket on just the Alt bracket, it doesnt have to be car show correct, I just want an original looking part that fits

That aftermarket alternator bracket looks like an expensive way to make access to the lower radiator hose a problem. And should the hose leak at the water pump end the alternator will be the recipient of an anti freeze bath. Contrary to popular belief, the OEM's devote a lot of engineering, durability testing and $$ to everything they make. Far more factors are taken into account besides make it as cheap as possible or pretty.

Not exactly sure of your issue. I had an issue with an Edelbrock performer when I tried to install the alt. bracket that the thermostat bolt was just a little father back than the stock manifold. I had to cut the bolt hole open, stretch it and re-weld, it if that makes sense to be able to use the stock alternator bracket. Here is the only photo I have, the red arrow is the bolt Hole I was referring to.

i also had that bracket for a 70 z28 and had the same "too short" prob, however even with that, the geometry was way off. The adjustment slot for the alt was not paralell to the water pump pulley
