im posting for my friend steve....whos a pontiac buff...this L88 is in a 64 grand prix that he wants to put back to all poncho,,the L88 was totally pro-built back in 71 these pics im posting are from that rebuild,,this motor is in the 64 still and can here run...(this motor pounds)it has ondly about 300 miles on motor since built....L88//casting#3963512 deck# ce172383..heads are 074s,,if some of you members belong to other fourms like vette/or 1st gen sites i would appreicate if you could post a link there to this sale...steve is asking 11,000 firm so if any 1 is intrested they can call me on my cell 708-828-9031..or pm me at this site thanks BOb.B i have like 60 pix of this motor,,

You have posted pics of what could be any BBC. If you want to help your friend sell the engine, those who would actually be interested in buying it as an L88 and with any price even remotely close to what he is asking will want to see the pics I told you to post.

Casting number, date, and suffix code.

^^^^^pdq the 427 l88 is still for sale i have links posted at sevral corvette sites and this is getting a lot of looks like over 700 just waiting for the phone to ring or get e-mailed or pm-ed;;...here is a pic of the deck#

and this is pick of block casting### they are same as i posted above ...they just moved some cars around the storage to look for block cast date.cars on the lift ,,,the owner says its a 69 block and heads...but want to verafie,,

I hope it finds a good home and all involved are happy that both sell and buy it.

I am going to say that if a block DOESN'T have the needed decode letters at the end of the VIN number string, then it is just a regular block regardless, and "CE" ain't them..
