    Engine side of firewall.

    Two questions -
    1. currently has a speed nut type of nut. Is this correct or did it use a regular nut on the studs that come through the firewall.
    2. The drawing in the Factory Assembly manual shows that the orange wire to the heater box has a condenser that mounts to the upper lip of the firewall at the cowl for cars with AM/FM. Mine doesn't have one and my 70 SS does not either. Anyone have a car with a condenser spliced into this wire for the heater blower motor?

Question 1 I'm pretty sure is a speed nut. At least that's what I pulled off my 75. That's all I could help with not sure about question #2

The only condenser I see in my Haynes manual is a tach filter (with radio).

No condenser spliced into the blower motor for any year that I see.

    That is odd.
Did your car come with an AM/FM radio?
AM only might not have gotten the condenser.

Judging by the instructions in the assembly manual... It wasn’t a standard part in the electrical harness.

Maybe it was missed on the assembly line or the part was dropped later in the production year?

Tim, my 71 RS had AM radio (no tach) but a condenser was in my engine compartment. Only reason I remember the condenser was being unexpected and location found. Don't remember what it was spliced into but it was located close to the joining of four 10ga wires at the radiator core support. It definitely was not spliced into the wire bundle that went to the wire plug on the firewall. By process of elimination this leaves the wire for the blower motor.
