I suspect French is his native language. If so he did a great job explaining the problem, I read it too quickly and missed the part that stated the hood is Fiberglass.

This guy! Especially when you spend $400 on a repop panel...spend hours playing with it, to only spend a grand for a real panel that actually fits!

Thinking about anvil fiberglas hood to fille match the gap for nice fit

The stock hood is scare in the fender , frame , munt hare perferc new . Gap up front hare 1/4 inch and 1/8 on the back , near door .

I wanted to know if someone cut or bent stock hood to have 1/4 inch .

I have 3 stock hood , i will try to raise up rear center section to make it shorter only at the back

It's either the quality of the hood or the fenders are too far inboard at the door jam. How many shims are between the upper mount of the fender and the cowl of the car? Have you measured the hood width at top towards the windshield and towards the nose to see if the gap taper is a taper in the hood itself?

Its a very bad hood, the header panel proves the mold for the hood was very poor. You can cut the hood and fix it. I steer people away from glass hoods because it can run you as much as $2500 in labor to fix a bad hood.

from what i see you probably have your rear part of fender in just a scotch too far. the factory actually calls for the fender to be outboard just a little for clearance. the rear of fender in its jamb area is not shaped to actually afford the door and fender being to close and level or parallel to each other. when you try to gap like modern cars you will run into this. it all starts at the 1/4 panels and rocker. You are dictated at front because of header mount. that being said is Definity true on factory, maybe not so on aftermarket. i agree with what Bad is saying. i would not recommend trying to bend hood, potential to create distortion on face. you may also find that after putting glass and trim on doors that they might be too tight also. or not. when disassembling those are things to note especially do to mass manufacturing deviations. the technology back then is not what it is now.
