No cutting necessary (T56 shifter hole excluded) unless you are installing a
T56 Magnum aftermarket transmission. The two crossmembers available will allow you to install a 4L60/4L65/4L70/4L75 automatic or T56 manual trans into a 2nd-gen behind an LS engine. We will also soon be releasing an adapter kit for use with the T56 crossmember that will allow it to be used to install a TH400 or 2004R automatic transmission.

Not at this point...the mounting boss on the 4L80E is approximately another 1.5" rearward from that of a T56/2004R/TH400, so I'm doubtful it's possible to accomodate it with the Hooker T56 crossmember as it sits. With that said, I've not had the opportunity to mock-up that eng/trans combination yet, so the fix may present itself to be an easy one once I get the chance to look at all the components involved. With the PRI show and the holidays approaching, I won't get the time to look into until after we're into the new year.

Yes, the 75-81 long-tubes and engine mounts and the mid-length headers and crossmembers that fit all year model 2nd-gens are available and listed on both Summit and Jeg's websites. The prices of the early 70-74' long-tubes will be the same as what you see for the 75-81" versions listed there now. I think you will be pleased to discover that all of the components are quite affordable in comparison to other individual products out there that were not designed to work with any other specific LS swap parts for your car. For reference sake, the part numbers are as follows:

    12613HKR- 1975-81 F-body engine mount bracket kit
2471HKR- 1-3/4" mid-length headers (fit all year models)
2472HKR- 1-7/8" mid-length headers (fit all year models)
    2295HKR- 1975-81 1-3/4" long-tube headers
    2296HKR- 1975-81 1-7/8" long-tube headers
    12614HKR- 4L60/4L65/4L70/4L75 automatic transmission crossmember
    12616HKR- 4th-gen F-body/GTO T56 transmission crossmember

The header part numbers above are for the painted mild steel versions of the headers, if you want the silver ceramic coated version of the headers add a -1 between the number and the HKR suffix (2471-1HKR for example). If you want black ceramic, you add a -3 to the number and if you want the full-bore stainless headers you would add a -7 to the number.

The part numbers for the 1970-74 specific engine mounts and long-tube headers are as follows:

    12512HKR- engine mount bracket kit
    2297HKR- 1-3/4" long-tubes
    2298HKR- 1-7/8" long-tubes

The exhaust systems will be the last parts to be released and those part numbers are 42501HKR for the 2.5" system and 42502HKR for the 3" systems.

Will it be possible to use a TKO 600 with this system?

The engine mounts and headers can certainly accommodate that transmission, but we don't have a specific crossmember to support it so you would have to fabricate something for it. With a torch, grinder and welder anything is possible.

I was curious if an adapter kit may be available in the future to accommodate the TKO as you did for the th400. Thanks
