I too have a couple spouts in the loft of my shop. Just could not throw them out.
Spouts worked good on metal cans, not so good on old cardboard cans if the spout didn't go in just right. And we had an oil rack that sat by the pumps, take the empty can and put it in the drain slot. Couple months there'd be a gallon or so of various weights oil, we called that bulk oil and sold it pretty cheap for beaters.
I have one plus a box of unopened Texaco cans.
Hey, how did you get my oil cans? lol.
I have one also, use it also for hydraulic oil in cans for my 1978 Cub Cadet 1440, which I am the second owner . 1978 was a good year
You weren't supposed to find out
I've got a Couple
OMG - Another confirmation that I am a geezer. When did this geezer stuff happen? I need a bottle of Geritol
Call me "geezer". I still have 5 or 6 cases of SEARS oil from the early 80's. Lotsa zinc in that old oil.
^^^^I remember Sears Spectrum oil! I have some of old can oil too,I was "told" the due to shelf life, the additive packages are non existent anymore???? I do remember dumping a old bottle of penzoil 1979 ish [had Johnny Rutherford's indy car on it] in my tractor and the last 1/4 inch of the bottle had oil like goop/solids in it I've always wondered about oils shelf life but questions on oil is like falling down a rabbit hole you never can get out of!!Later Steve!!
