6-8 cups a day was my normal for years. Then the caffeine really started to spike my blood pressure so I cut back to decaf. Well I was still getting pressure spikes so I’ve gone to drinking around 6 cups of decaf a week. Will quit completely if I have too. I like it, but I’m not going to die for it. ;)

I typically have one 12 oz of organic black coffee a day. Once I get settled I plan on getting an espresso machine, nothing fancy. I have had various types of coffee all over the world. Turkish/Greek coffee and Italian prepared coffee is my preference.

You don’t need a lot of money or a big machine to make good espresso.

Been up for an hour and on my third cup. This used to be our vacation coffee maker, since hotels give you like a 2 cupper, and staying with my sister didn't like the weak stuff her husband brewed. Then I bought a bunch of those app controlled plugs to turn lights on around house, thought hey this would be perfect, set the coffee maker to come on at 2:15 (wife gets up early). I have two of these, one I bought on ebay then when my dad died got the old one I grew up with. Guess there was a recall on them many years ago due to epoxy holding stainless band onto the Corning ware would fail and people were getting burnt when the percolator fell. I'll take my chances, nice strong coffee perc'd.

I remember some years ago I was in a training class with a bunch of nurses. You wouldn't believe how much coffee those women drank during the day. Shift work with a lot of aggravation probably?

Another little known fact is that caffeine will spike blood sugar. Not a problem for most people, but if you are diabetic or have issues with insulin sensitivity, it will add to the problem.
