Just a few pics of how I used an 80 fender for my 76(early style front) Mine was all rotten in the rear. I welded together at the shortest area.

Yes but what about the holes and the notches? I wonder if I can score some vents if the backing plate would work.
I saw someone used their old z fender and cut out the hole section to mark off the bolt holes and I figured it could work with paper also.

The problem with trying to cut them on the car is the firewall is right behind that area so you would have to stay pretty shallow to avoid hitting it. Also it would hard to put the nuts on the back of the fender vent...not sure if it is even possible with the fender on the car.
The picture of the flush mount is Kevin Tetz's Zed Sled project BTW.

I know this is an old post but any chance you could post the origonal pics again? I am doing this to my car now and the pics are not showing up anymore.
