1979 Z28, torn down to a stripped tub. How do you know if a fender is an oem GM stamped product?

Most situations, you can tell by the nuts. A OE fender will have rectangular nuts for the inner fenders. Repop has what looks like normal nuts. The OE fenders also have the crash crinkles where the hood rest when it’s lowered

Not all GM parts have part number stamping, but a lot of them do. I don’t recall ever seeing “GM” on anything.

No, but you should see the GM part number and mfg. info molded on the backs of the plastic parts
There should be some type of molded in numbers or GM on the interior parts. Most numbers are 1 off of the part number. Dont ask why, nobody knows. I am a GM retired Parts Manager for many years and could never understand why if you put a number on it , why its not the part number but its not. There is a chart in the parts books to convert the casting number to parts number.

In other words, non OEM or aftermarket is Chinese made garbage that doesn’t fit. BTW OEM means original GM part.
