20 years ago OEM was made in the USA, Canada maybe Europe. Today China Junk, even AC Delco is mostly made in China, Quality is down

In other words, non OEM or aftermarket is Chinese made garbage that doesn’t fit. BTW OEM means original GM part.

Working in GM parts for 40 plus years, I can tell you the market is flooded with counterfeit parts. Watch for AC Delco boxes that are not looking right or printed incorrectly

I have found reproduction plastic pieces to fit fine. The metal is where the issue is. I can see making a mold for plastic being alot easier than stamping sheet metal.

You are correct, but my brother works for Bosch. Even Bosch is 90% made in China or other Countries in Asia. So is AC Delco or 50% of MOOG parts

These days, most parts are off shore. The counterfeits are likely the real thing sold out the back door.
