For a 1980 Z28 with a BW super T-10.
Does any one else using a Hurst Competition/Plus Shifter 3918791 have a problem with the shifter hitting the stock 4 speed console. Even after changing the shift levers to get a shorter throw I still had to unbolt the console and move it back an in inch or two just to shift into 2nd and 4th gears. Is there a different handle for this shifter that would be a better fit for the factory console?

Its probably for a non console car The part # sounds correct But there are mistakes. And or you could contact Hurst themselves .Because there are differences Do you have a picture ? I may be able to help with suggestions

After comparing pictures on the Hurst website looks like I have the 3918794 shifter that is for without the console. I bought this shifter so long ago I can't even remember where I ordered it from, it was before I even had a console for the interior. I'll just deal with the console being slightly out of place for a while.

Since the top of my console is warped and has a few cigarette burns I'm thinking about making a custom piece to cover the top of the console and then I can place the shifter hole wherever I need to.
