5w30 oil is designed to operate at ambient temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius (-22 degrees Fahrenheit) – making it a great choice if you live in cold climates such as the Northeastern United States or Canada.
10w30, however, has a smaller temperature window.
It will perform best at temperatures above -18 degrees Celsius (0 degrees Fahrenheit) and below 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit).
NOTE: the 5x-30 in SYNTHETIC....the 10w-30 in dinosaur oil!!
better to NOTE: that the synthetics do not out perform LOWER (same as crude) but DO EXTEND in higher heat!

I always used straight 40W in all my motors and straight 30W in my lawn mower.
I guess I am the dinosaur the next oil will come from.
