    12.1 miles from the San Andreas Fault
    I saw him when I was up there a few years ago. It was July, and there was snow on the ground! There is a road that goes all the way around the lake with some beautiful hiking trails there as well. I recommend it.

    We were there in early June a few years ago and the only entrance that was open had 12' wall of snow on either side. We were going to hike down to the water but the trail wasn't open yet.

    I've always wanted to visit Crater Lake National Park. Looks like a pretty lake.

    Yeah it is an awesome park, I highly recommend the boat ride around the lake. You do get up close to that 'log' and views you cannot see from the hiking trails. Hike trails are very short but are steep around the caldera.
