I used the asphalt paper from home depot, then a layer of aluminum foil, then a layer of jute padding. Nice and quiet and very thermally efficient.

I used a ceramic spray on sound insulation on called Lizard skin then used the pre cut tar mats that came with my carpet kit that had jute insulation on the back side. I also sprayed it in the trunk and I undercoated the entire bottom of the car.
