Is there a better way than jacking up your car to work under it?

I don’t think you want to use them under the rocker panels and the subframe isn’t a continuous rail that runs back far enough for a good balance of the front and rear weight of the car... Is it?

I had a spitfire fall off of a stack of wheels. It headed for the center of the earth really fast.
Anything under it would have been squished to grease. I was safe a few feet away or I'd not be writing this to you.

The car has to be really well supported. Welded steel ramp and rack would be ok so would a cast concrete ramp. I've seen nice lifts that would work...and they'd give you another parking spot.

I 'd pass on the pit as unless you keep it covered, things including people fall in. I nearly walked backward into an indoor swimming pool one afternoon.

If nothing else, tip the car over on its side, a few dents are better than being killed or seriously injured. It worked for me (the car had its body off).

Change to motorcycles for your hobby. You never have to work under them.

I have that Quick Jack. Side to side, it's going to be tight under there. If you drop engine and transmission in at same time, you should be okay. I use a floor jack to guide the transmission and that makes it even tighter. I know people have lifted from the rocker panels to give more room and gotten away with no damage, they were lucky. Just do not use the pinch weld blocks, the slots are too shallow and your car has fuel and brake lines running along side the pinch welds.

I should have added that I'm about to pull the 700-R4 to replace a cracked flex plate. UGH again. I will not be using the Quick Jacks, car will be on 6 ton jack stands.

Good looking out.itlook tight down the middle,I think I'll save the 1700.00 ,and use ramps and jack stands
