I think you went about it the right way by using a proper block to lift at the pinch weld. And if yours are in good shape, I'm sure it would be fine.I used the pinch weld at the rear and everything was fine
Proper block is the trick. Slots on the small rubber blocks are about 5/8" deep, my pinch welds run about 7/8" deep. That's why I slotted a 4x6 block of wood, but only use when I absolutely need to lift from that point. Our 2nd gens just are not designed to lift from pinch welds, that's been said before.I think you went about it the right way by using a proper block to lift at the pinch weld.
