It's been more like being in a pile of snow actually,
"worst" winter ever since the the measurements started in this region of scandinavia, but now it's finally getting warmer, I actually got to take the Camaro for a ride this evening. I can't wait to start the season with a work session. (Installing a new pypes cross flow system among other things.).
btw, did You ever find the reason behind the squeky/crinkling sound on your Camaro?
Are the pictures missing? Let me know, It seems that the ISP may have removed the pictures from my allocated web space. I will try to replace the images by reuploading them somewhere else as soon as I have the time. Until then I'll post a photo from the last few days of summer in 2009. This week end will be warm, hot winds from the Sahara, they may even reach my garage and melt away the last piles of snow.
Sorry for the crappy photos but I only had my mobile phone at the time.
Changing lifters only is a hazardous game, at least it seems that way when browsing various threads, I am happy to report that I have succeded in replacing all lifters in my engine without replacing the cam shaft, I never thought it could make that kind of difference from the old set of lifters but now it sounds as expected.
When assembling the mystery motor mentioned in earlier posts I didn't replace the lifters, they all looked to be in fine shape. However after running the engine for a while, intermittent noise and actually, lack of power was noted. I suspected a lifter, and found that #8 exhaust turned out to be the source of the noise, and since a couple of other lifters showed signs of not holding the pressure every single one was replaced. It actually seems to have worked out fine.
I have been running the car for about 60 miles and it runs better than ever.
Thanks to my friend for letting me use his garage!
Next stop will probably be to get the posi into the rear axle.

I failed to mention that I got a new exhaust installed prior to the lifter
ordeal, I have installed a Pypes Exhaust Cross Flow system (SGF70) with
downpipes since I won't use headers, the system hade a better than average
fit, (just some trimming of the x-pipe section and the down pipes)
And it sounds great! Very quiet "in car" and at low throttle,

Cool car, Love to see shots of Camaros that are no longer in there home country, I would imagine that a Camaro would stand out big time around all those European cars you have there, Cheers and kep up the post, Andrew.
