I got my 1st kidney stone yesterday. At 7:15, my side felt funny. By 7:45 it was hurting....and at 8:15 I went to the emergency room.

4mm stone still between my kidney and bladder. Been drinking water (yuck) and taking pain meds.

I've broken multiple bones, had a tooth broken off at my jawline, etc....the kidney stone pain is right up there in the 10 out of 10 category.

I hope this bad boy pops out soon on its own...really don't want to get anything stuck up the ol peepee hole.

I was given two big shots of morphine in the ER. It didn't do anything but they also gave me delaudid and that worked instantly. Kinda crazy actually.

I've had them twice, and the appendix hurt about as bad. I'm in getting my gall bladder checked now from severe cramping, I'm running out of organs.

About 15 yrs ago when I first started running work, I had someone come up and say one of my guys was in the bathroom laying on the floor screaming in pain. kidney stone. I've never seen anyone in that much pain...SO I REALLY FEEL FOR YOU. Good luck.

I had a severe gall bladder attack and was told it's the most painful surgery to recover from. Hopefully you can get it taken out (if need be) laproscopically. Mine was the size of a football and they split me wide open. I was told kidney stones are nearly as painful but much quicker recovery. I would have thought open heart would be more painful but the surgeon said that when they cut the muscles like they did on me, it affects everything you do with the abdomen muscles. He didn't lie.

Damn, they did the robotic surgery on my with 3 small incisions to do my appendix. I would hope the procedure would be the same if anything.

Normally they do. Mine was heavily swollen and abscessed. The pain was in my back and I thought it was delayed pain from a car crash in the early 70's. They had told me it would bother me as I got older.
