"Legalizing" the 73Z for the Road

I also have the antique license plate on my 78 Z28. I only drive it around the country roads here in Bandera county. I hardly drive into San Antonio anymore which is only about 25 miles away mainly because I get frustrated waiting in lines. I really need to check out my insurance for it because I only carry liability on it. Thanks for the tip on insurance. I also get a lot of compliments on my 78, almost everyone thinks it is a T/A. When I bought it, it had Z28 stickers on both fenders below the fender vents & a Z28 emblem on the gas cap door. When I painted it I scraped off the Z28 stickers an kept the emblem only. I guess it could easily be mistaken for a T/A. My biggest disappointment when I bought it was I thought it being Z28 it had a high horsepower 350 but NO! I should of known because it had single exhaust, I think it was only 180 hp stock. It was from NorCal, sold from AJ Folyt in Houston. I’m pretty sure it has spent it’s whole life in Texas so no really bad rust issues except for fender rust.

Thanks for the tip on insurance.
You're welcome, glad to help.
Sweet looking ride! Is that 34 Yellow-Orange or 63 Camel? I like it. Looks similar to my 60 Light Copper. I've always liked those rims, too.
Funny how people think it's a T/A. Just don't see these cars on the road that much, so it's probably easy for them to get confused.
Yeah, it's a bit disappointing about the single exhaust. I'm not familiar with 4th gens, but I saw an under carriage pic of a 2002 T/A on FB last week and it had a single exhaust. I'm guessing it's the same with a 2002 Z28 and SS. Surprised me. So it would appear that the single exhaust didn't end in the late 70s. In any case, that's the way they were made and there's a choice between factory and a little modification, lol.

Glad your beautiful '73 is on the road! Hope to have mine on the road soon if I can only make it through the gauntlet of California's EVIL DMV! My nightmare continues, (my story post in another thread) bought a 1971 under hood epa sticker dmv says i must have, meeting with CHP next week. Fingers crossed 🤞.
