That one is going to be sitting there a long time.
Those are very hard to find. If you want to be correct, it matters how much you want it.
No wonder the "resto modding" of more "ordinary" second gens has gotten more popular.
Agree, Guess I don't need it!
Buddy of mine has said Spring Jefferson is a go so far, maybe you can find one there for a fair price ,As a sad aside I know of a couple of guys who love to buy long term owner cars with correct parts like mine and many others only to harvest all the special parts shifters, jacks, pulleys, smog, distributors, carbs, alternators basically anything that bolts on with a number or date code. Even exhaust and intake manifolds are fair game.I've even seen one put a repo air cleaner on in place of an original. One told me he'd easily make 5k or more robbing the correct stuff off my 'z and he'd get the same price to a buyer as if it had all the correct parts-just a different clientelle. He's also to been known to sell items to his buyer that miraculously are date code correct and even sometimes just bolt right up[because he took them off a month before]. Hope you find a distributor for a fair price! Later Steve!!
Thanks Steve, Thank God he only took the distributor, Exhaust manifolds, Radiator and 9/16 sway bar, I just checked the Muncie yesterday The Vin number matches the car, Everything else is correct. Really sucks I picked the car up last year and it was -20 outside, so my fault I didn't double check.Car is a 70 SS RS 4speed,12 bolt posi with 68,000 original miles, car has original spiral shocks, water pump, alternator, Gm hoses ,clamps, carb etc. I live 30 miles from Jefferson, I'm checking that place and Carlisle, Thanks
On ebay right now:
274596137949. This is the item number
Seems like a fair price to me.
