I'm taking a trip shortly to look areas for possible relocation. We would like to be no more then a hours drive from Raliegh if possible. Will be looking for single family home not in a sub division, schools are not an issue (no young children), can be rural/semi rural, most important is a safe area (crime wise). Open for suggestions.

If you are looking for work, check out the American Express data center in Whitsett. They are always needing good people and train for their particular facility.

Dave, No Laughing matter when you want to be within one hour drive to Dr's
    and Specialists......

I'm guessing youve had enough of the harsh winter weather in New Jersey.
Maybe your taxes are high ?? Cost of Living is High ??

I live at the beach three hours south of Raleigh. Here are some more the approximate same distance .

It still snows in Raleigh . To move out of that band you ll need to move SOUTH 2-3 more hours . Snow is a rare rare thing down here . LOL...1/2 inch is a blizzard and it melts hour latter.

There are several small beach towns near me . Top Sail Beach , Atlantic Beach , Indian Beach . Further south Oak Island ....so on down to,Myrtle Beach SC.

Shoveling or snow removal is for young fellows . I gave my shovel to the new owner of my mt estate .....I told him use it in good health. ...LOL

I prefer kayaking, bikes , and warm weather . 25 years of snow was enough for my poor wife .

Life slows down ....further you get from Raleigh.....LOL .....too big for me up there.

It's 64 and Sunny today . Camaro day.

Here is some places nice that are very pretty coastal area , not highly populated

New Bern , NC .....very very old city , on water , historic , beautiful...You should visit it . There is nice little airport there too, to,catch a main hub . Miniature Charleston, SC.

Beaufort , NC ......very beautiful old costal town ,lots of history . Small area and houses can be pricey as they old historic community . But so neat.

Wilmington.....is very nice sized city , with everything you could want , Wrightville Beach is there . It's about 1 1/2 hour drive south of me. I like it.

Moorehead City .....port town , close to everything above . Less expensive.

If you want to live away from the ocean or sound , don't care for water

Wilson , NC. Nice area ..nearer to Raleigh
Rocky Mount , NC ....rural below VA.

If you want to live even closer to Raleigh ......up scale townships there is Cary and Wake Forrest areas outskirts of Raleigh. Highly recommended.

Your welcome to stop by :)
