The track is open, the air will be good so I am going out to beat the crap out of the 406 with "stock" Vortec heads. Here's what's in it. .030 400 sbc around 11 to 1 compression Stock 906 Voretc heads with my own 3 angle valve job. Stock rockers Scat crank and 5.7 rods (forgot to clearance them) as the scat ones were junk. Elgin 1165P cam .488 .510, 234° and 244° on a 106 LCA GMPP (RPM style intake) 1 5/8" headers A whole bunch of carburetors, 850 Mighty Demon to start with. 10 Jeg's 4100 stall converter. Turbo 400 with 4.10 gear. Peanut port engine with all else the same ran 11.78@113mph best. What do you think this combo will run? I am saying 11.60's@114mph. The heads are the big if factor here, have never used a set at the track on a decent short block.
