I know it hurts, only how bad , we had to put down all three of our beloved dogs in a period of less then 13 months. Was like losing a whole family. They have their pics on the wall and live on in our hearts. Time heals things.

Good News is we got two new puppies :D .....going to dog shows and having a blast again.

    Everything will work out. ;)

Sorry to hear about Toby. She was a beautiful dog. I've had to make the same tough choices myself and it's the toughest thing I've ever had to do. I lost my border collie mix, Clyde almost two years ago. I still miss him and I have his pic in my phone and a few around the house. I'll give him a yell and have him show Toby around.

Some people consider these animals to be "angels on loan". We almost always outlive our pets, which is the worst part of having them become a part of our family.

Condolences... it's never easy, but it does get better.

Our new guy (mini-dachsund) is suicidal... he crawls under the covers and sleeps next to my wife's @ss, and sleeps there ALL NIGHT... even on taco night.

Sorry for your loss. We went through about the same thing with Capone (our 14 year old boxer) who we had put down last year. He was fine on Tuesday night but not on Wednesday morning.

Side story to your dog's breed: My dad had a springer spaniel in the 1930's that he said was THEE best bird dog (and his friends agreed that it was) nameed Frank. Frank had one drawback: he didn't know when to stop hunting. EX: dad had Frank in the front seat of his car and was doing about 60 mph down the road. A pheasant flew out across the road and Frank jumped out of the car (before dad could get slowed down!). Dad slid to a stop expecting that damned dog to be dead but no, Frank was striking a point to where that bird was! Too bad dad didn't have his shotgun with him!

    RIP Toby.

My Barney is 17yo, and he's slowing down. I dread the day...

    Sorry to hear this.
I like pets more than humans so, this really gets to me.
    RIP Toby.
