Interesting, would love to see the inside of that oil pan being a wet sump now.

Isn't it the same oil GM recommends for the older 505hp Z06's.

Perhaps clearances and lifter design, that and the fact it's for "off road competition" without the DS remote tank, oil temps are going to get up there anyway, just AWAG.

Looks to be a 4th Gen F-body oil pan.

Interesting. I'm disappointed they kept the Hyperutecnic pistons.
If I end up taking my dad's 2002 Z06 (180K miles, the original engine is getting tired) I'm going to have to consider this for the engine.

True....I wonder why they just didn't stick forged pistons in considering its "new and improved"

It is supposed to be "race track only" and in the corvettes thats the oil they say to use.

I was reading about it last night, I would love to get one but you're right I think it'll start at $12,000 :(
    For that money https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Blue...RXxSZ5aGm4KWBB-1Iu-4cK_lfFoIHM3BoCKUUQAvD_BwE

    Summit price for it: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...7DyzBb-MAU7j6I6zCJmS203lsLjkKQahoCvSUQAvD_BwE

There are a lot better options than that.
A take out ls7 is running around 8500 bucks here--still a little high for my taste but a great engine.

I suspect GM had a ton of LS7 stuff in the parts bin and wants to get rid of it. I always wondered if a deturned version was going to go into pickup trucks, and after they had the cylinder head recall, that engine fell from favor.
