    Greetings,

I just purchased by Brother-in-laws totaled 2012 CTS-v (rain, no traction control, 3 martinis), I am considering swapping the LS-A / T56 into the '72 z28, I have the parts and materials list I need, how much cutting will be required. This a 30K mile vehicle, non-matching engine.

I have the budget to do so, since I bought the vehicle for $4500.

    Thanks,

    Stratos

Not sure, can they be converted the '72? If not, are you interested?

You will need an Fbody oil pan and likey a different front pulley setup.

Also will need a gas tank conversion, motor and transmission mounts.

A modified wiring harness would simplify the process if not a DIYr.

You may also have issues with the shifter placement. I'm pretty sure it's not going to come up in the same hole. And the tunnel may need to be cut open to accomodate the much larger than stock transmission case. And you'll need a custom driveshaft with T56 end/slip yoke.
