I have a 73 lt and the door panels are shot I want to convert to the earlier 70/71 style door panels. is this possible? If so what all do I need to change over to standard panels?

Just to confirm, a 73 Type LT should have the deluxe two-piece door panels with the wood grain inserts in the upper portion and then the lower plastic portion with the two openings for maps and stuff. Is that what you have?

You will need to change a couple of things to make that happen. Could get expensive.

The 70-71 arm rest brackets for the lower door panel (the plastic part) are different from the 72 and later lower door panel brackets. Ask me how I know. Also, the deluxe door panel window regulators have a longer shaft for the window handles than the standard regulators.

    ^ Good info!

I doubt it will be difficult to find someone to trade your deluxe regulators for a set of standard regulators.

Your deluxe door panel might be restorable" but that is NOT a cheap process.
Yours could be worth something to someone as cores for restoration.
