there was a Muscle Car Review Article about that exact car in the July 2014 issue.

their were 7 built by Chapman Chevrolet in Tempe AZ and DKM Performance owner Denis Mecham. back then GM would not warranty cars with any performance modifications. they got around it by buying the cars from Chapman modifying them and selling them back to chapman as a used car.

DKM also worked with the local Pontiac dealer to create the 78-80 Macho Trans AM's

there were 200 78-80 Macho Trans AMs and just 7 Camaros. Of the Camaros only 1 was a 78 Z28 the other 6 were 79 Berlinettas. In mid 79 DKM scrapped the Camaros project and focused exclusively on T/A's. probably because of the popularity of smoky and the bandit movie about that time.

its a very cool car from a time frame when engine performance was at a low point.

this car was also in the September 1978 issue of Hot Rod Magazine.
