Made wrong hole in firewall

Hey guys, I came across an issue. I was trying to drill a hole to run some cables through my fire wall and ended up drilling into the upper Cowl firewall where the flapper valve is. Can I run the cables through here and drill another hole in the engine bay? I have grommets for the cables as well. Or, should I just plug it with a rubber grommet and look for another spot? Please help if there's another location. The car is a 79 automatic

I would plug that and put the hole in the proper area. IMO.

Yea I just plugged it and made the one on the driver side footwell bigger
