$2.47 is $2.47 too much to pay for property tax on a vehicle. It's bad enough to pay sales tax when you BUY the vehicle - paying property tax year after year after year after year makes no sense to me.

Why do you call it a "loophole" and why don't you take advantage of collector plates?

That is no longer true. I paid $115.80 each for my Camaros on 12/19/2019. (for 2 years, so less than $60 per year) You got to add in the "school tax" that was applied, you know, the extra $32 per year, plus all the other fees.
In Wisconsin, I paid a one time fee for each car, for as long as I owned them.

You're right! I forgot about the new rapist fee they are charging. I have not registered the Camaro in years.
My truck is up next month so, let the bloodletting begin!

Annual registration fee for my Camaro is $20 for a regular license plate.

A "hobby/antique" plate is $25 up front (manufacturing fee). Then it's $20 annually for passenger car registration fee. Then another $35 annually for "special tag fee". Buncha crooks.

I just run regular plates on both my 1979 Z-28 and my 1981 El Camino .Of which I use as a daily driver .And pay around $80 dollars a year .Because it varies from state to state on what restrictions collector plates have.
