Kind of interesting how they sometimes pull the reserve and the bid drops down to the next highest bidder. Especially at Mecum.

I was there today in person and watched a line of chevelle ls5 and 6 go for big money on was 165k. Really nice orange 70z went for $120k which was insane. Inflation or felation?

IMHO that Kendall custom Mustang that just sold has some of the worst mods I've ever seen, but to each their own.

Kind of surprising to see the several collectors selling their lots too. Some pretty amazing cars. Be tough to get 30 or 40 - and more - shipped and prepped for the run through I'd think. And no Rick Hendrick there buying anything.

I'd say they picked the right time to sell. Serious money for those cars. Seems like with that many mid year Corvettes and big block Chevelles the prices would fall off, didn't seem to.

my buddy sold a few cars at Scottsdale barrett, If you build them nice and don't take shortcuts his regular chevelles and el caminos all do pretty well. his recipe is real simple. body off the frame, simple crate 454 ho, autogear muncie, new currie 12 bolt, vintage ac. rebuild and detail everything, SS badges, some get a Dakota dash and they seem to sell in the 50k plus, his 70 el camino broke 70 and it wasn't a ss.
some say it's not real, or the prices aren't real world, but when he cashes his check, the money is real. jim
