Hello All,

I am restoring a 80 Z28 and need some steering pieces. Attached is a picture of what is in the car now. I know I need a steering gear box and pitman arm but are there other components I need? I need to find a source that has all the missing components including nuts/bolts or any other fasteners needed to put it all together. I've tried looking for a schematic of all the steering parts but have been unsuccessful. If anyone as a similar make/model, please send me some pictures of what the end result should look like.

Keith at Custom Works (NastyZ28 site sponsor) has a complete kit of what you need to go from the steering box to your spindles (minus 7" pitman arm/nut and lockwasher): http://customworksperformance.net/suspension.html. Of course you'll need a P/S gearbox and the 3 bolts to secure it to frame camaro central (great selection of new and used parts) has them: https://www.camarocentral.com/1970_1981_Camaro_Power_Steering_Gear_Box_Bolts_p/pow-46b.htm. Which steering box you go with is do you want to take your chances with a rebuilt borgenson (later model Camaro 79-81) used metric fittings on pump and gearbox or do you want to spend the money for a brand new pro touring type box which is also available through Custom works. Of course hoses, power steering pump, bracket to mount pump, pulley for pump if not included with pump you buy. Since you need a lot of stuff you could call Keith at Custom Works and see if he will work a deal with you, mention you heard about him through NastyZ28. A lot of members have bought from Keith, he owns and races 2nd gen Camaros, small business owner, puts a lot of time into researching and desiging his parts. Won't oversell you.
