Motor Mounts

Hey guys, I've recently just completed tearing apart and painting the frame on my 1981 z28.

When I bought the car it did not come with an engine or transmission so I've been looking at putting a 6.2 ls3 in it. I haven't bought anything yet and was wondering if the regular clamshell mount location works or if I should use a different mount/location.

Not trying to move the motor mounts after I get done putting the front suspension back together so any help is appreciated.

A basic search on Summit for motor mounts for a 1981 Camaro would have showed you results for LS swap kits, but I did some work for you..


BRP Hotrods has a mount package for various engine/trans combos. A little pricey, though.

Trans-Dapt also has a LS swap mount kit that's a lot more affordable than the BRP kit and looks like it uses the clamshell mounts.
