Mounting headliner side trim

Hi

I got a 72 camaro, the previous owner replaced the car roof at some point. I am in progress of getting all the interior trim Peaces back together and have several plastic / metal Peaces that i am trying to figure out what goes where.

It looks like i have 70-73 metal side trim peaces with metal clips ( but i don't have any slots in the ceiling to mount them???). and then i have 74 plastic ones that would line up with the holes in the ceiling.

Questions are.
Is there a difference between 73 and 74 when it comes to the car roofs (mounting points)??? and are the trim Peaces interchangeable between the years? I just got a box with parts when i bought the car.

The rectangle holes are for the clips near the bottom of the inner roof.

I am not positive, but I think that in 1973 the headliner went from fabric with bows to one-piece Styrofoam. I have a 72 like yours with bows and fabric. There are 2 metal trim parts that go along the inside door openings which retain the shoulder belts. These trim pieces have prongs that push through the fabric then into slots in the inner roof. I am not sure if the one-piece roof panel will work in a 72 or not, maybe someone here on the site knows.

This is my 1st week of February 1973. Sometime shortly after GM changed to the single piece headliner. So 73 could have either depending on the production date. Roof structure is exactly the same

I'm working on a '74. Dash was replaced after all moldings around windshield and headliner (both sides) were removed. Is there a sequence to reinstalling the moldings?
