Hi everyone, i finally got my new rtx gauges in for my 1980 camaro after i ordered them in early april and am starting the install. Where have you guys been installing the controller? Ive seen some people mount it on the steering column bracket, is there anywhere else anyone has installed theirs?

I installed mine on the windshield defroster duct. Has been working out.

Your distributor doesn't affect the electronics like the manual says? I know it says to not mount it right on the inside of the firewall behind the distributor

No have not had an issue. I did mount the control box low on the defroster duct no issues so far probably just as far as mounting it on the steering column. It is not close to the dizzy.

On my 73u had if on the firewall with no issue, I was running an LS2.
In my 70 that I'm getting ready to start, I was thinking of putting it under the console and extending the wires. Haven't gotten the unit yet to see how long the cat 5 is.

Im installing the control box now, and for the fuel input ground did you do what they recommend and ground it to the fuel level sensor at the tank or just to one of the metal supports behind the dash?

I'm interested in getting one of the RTX gauge kits. And they just told me 18-22 weeks. OMG that's insane

When did they take your money or charge your card for it? When you ordered it....or when they finally shipped it?
