Trying to get a gauge on price if i were to sell. Car is 1 owner car, 4spd, have all dealer paperwork when new, protect o plate 66k orig miles. Car has every single orig part. Radiator was replaced as well as carb but I do have the originals in box. Smog pump and all. It does have rot on lower fenders and on corner of door. Dash pad has the famous lip bent up really bad. Other than that floors, trunk, qtrs 100% solid. No power steering has D40 spoiler option, lots of my other pics won't load

Looks like something high $20K - $30K because it's not perfect, a documented Z/28 should be worth more with restoration/preservation than to be modified with anything other than bolt-ons. If you want a pro-touring, please pick a base car, IMO most of the folks on this Forum would rather preserve/restore a documented original car, than to modify with permanent (cutting/welding modifications). The '73 (that I have) is a base car, so it has been converted to 4-speed, de-stroked 400, etc. Pick up a base car, add mini-tubs, frame ties, tubular A-frames, and an LS if you want. Nice Z! I look at Haggerty’s site for prices. Also look at Completed Items for that car in EBay. The rust will hold it back, IMO. Documented cars are also a plus. These are getting stupid money right now with no end in sight! Ask low 40’s and negotiate from there.

I'd think that $30k price tag is right on target for a fairly easy sale. I'd put it on Hemmings or BAT with that reserve - probably bring more if presented well. Original survivors are pretty rare for that model.

Not trying to be a jerk here . . . but.

The car is beautiful but, sometimes, you can't "judge a book by its cover" . . . Whenever things seem "too good to be true", use caution.

In a 52-year old car with 66K original miles, that would mean that this car, for its entire life, was only driven an average of just over 100 miles per month.

If I were even remotely considering a car like this, I would start by verifying the Registration records by VIN. If there were any "gaps" in the record ( no current tags or annual inspection ), I would suspect the car either was not running or not being driven, for whatever reason, during those times. An extended period of non-registration or inspections might indicate a car that was inoperable, at least at times, potentially causing problems later on.

Had my 1980 Z since day one. Only have room for one non-practical, summer car so if I am ever going to own a 'Vette the Z will have to go. Nothing to do with health other than trying avoid a severe beating from my wife if I buy another car. ( had her since 1984)
