This is the first time I've ever heard of a potential problem with an MSD product. That doesn't necessarily mean anything because it's not like I have a lot of experience. I had a Crane HI-6 in my Mustang, and a buddy has a Mallory HyFire in his Mustang. But it seems like every car in the mags has an MSD.

Have you heard anything about the Streetfire products?

I've heard your car does race gas, and I can't have my car exposed to that bad behavior.

I have not, Scott. I actually had to google Street Fire because I'd never heard of it (been out of the hot rod game for several years - bought the HI-6 in '95, sold the Mustang in '06 and just bought my car last December). I had no idea MSD was branding their name for other manufacturers. I suppose you've had it for longer than a year ... i.e. no warranty?

I'll get it fixed. I'll take my time though because I won't be able to get back to the track in time before it closes for the winter.

No warranty, but I may still send it in to be repaired if it's the problem. I'll keep it around as a backup. My mallory box came in, so I may get to it this weekend. I plan on doing a temporary install just to make sure it is the box causing the problem.
