For Sale: N.O.S. Stant Fuel Cap (stamped "VENTED" and "ANTI SURGE") in a Robert Shaw box (part # "RG 46") as shown in photos #1 - #4 which is exactly same as a N.O.S. GM # 3931449 fuel cap that I sold years age and is listed in my 1970 Chevrolet Parts Catalog (Jan. 1970) for the following models:
70 Pass. (exc. E.E.C.)
70 Nova, Chevelle (exc. Sta. Wag., El Camino)
70 Chevelle (Sta. Wag., El Camino), Camaro (exc. E.E.C.)

GM # 3931449 is not listed in my 1969 or older Chevrolet Parts Catalogs.

My 1970 Chevelle Assembly Manual (UPC 8, Sheet B2) lists GM # 3843698 for the Chevelle fuel cap and GM # 3931449 for the El Camino fuel cap.

This cap has the large letter "S" on the rivet head as well as the letter "S" on one of the "ears". The cap measures about 2.2" in diameter and 2.5" from "bump out" to "bump out".

NOTE: The fuel cap listed in my 1970 Camaro Assembly Manual (UPC 8, Sheet B5) is GM # 3843698 which is embossed "VENTER" and "ANTI SURGE" but is round without the 2 "bump outs" as shown in photo #5. Photo #5 is for comparison purposes only.

According to GM Parts History for parts sold over the counter GM # 3843698 was replaced by GM # 3931449 sometime between Aug. 1985 and Jan. 1990.

$10 for the NOS "RG 46" Fuel Cap as shown in photos 1-4 plus shipping and Paypal fee (if applicable).
If interested or if there are any questions, SEND ME A PM and SPECIFY ITEM # 481.

For Sale: Used 1970 Muncie M21 4-speed Transmission from a 1970 Corvette. I bought this transmission in the 1990's from a swap meet in Connecticut for my 1970 Camaro SS350 project which is no longer. When I bought the transmission the cover was off so I could see that the gears inside were in good condition. The main shaft spins freely by hand. I am selling this transmission as a "core" as it should be inspected and probably rebuilt by an expert familiar with Muncie 4-speed transmissions. Back in the 1990's I made a storage support from 2x4's and stored the transmission in a large cardboard box.
As shown in the 1970 Camaro Assembly Manual (UPC M20, M21,M22; Sheet A1) the part number for the M21 4-speed is GM # 3968011 used on L34 and Z28 models.

The markings on the transmission are as follows:
1. Main housing casting numbers are "3925661", "9" (for 1969?), and "12" (December?).
The stamped numbers are "P0T30B" (see photo #6).
"P" = Muncie
"0" = 1970 model year
"T" = December
"30" = 30th day of the month (assembled in 1969)
"B" = M21
There is also a larger letter "B" (for M21, I assume) above the partial VIN.
The transmission was assembled on December 30, 1969.
The partial stamped VIN is "70S407318" as shown in photo #6 (the full VIN would have been 194370S407318 or 194670S407318 depending on whether the transmission was installed in a coupe or convertible).
"0= 1970
"S" = St. Louis where Corvettes were assembled
"407318" = serial number of Corvette (this was 1970 Corvette # 7318 of a total of 17,316 made)

2. Side cover casting number is "3952648", "GM", and "3-2" (see photo #2 and # 10).

3. Tail shaft casting number is " 3857584" and "GM" (see photo #7).

4. The front shaft has 10 splines and one groove (M21) (see photo #4).

5. The bracket shown in photo #2 attached to the side cover on the bottom right is GM # 3864296 used on Corvettes. The small bracket shown in photo #3 is GM # 3960696 used on 1970 Corvettes.

$600 cash for the 1970 M21 4-speed for pick up in Merrimack, NH, which is about 50 northwest of Boston, MA.
I am currently building a wooden box (plywood & 2 X 3's) for a POTENTIAL Buyer.
If interested, SEND ME A PM.

Dave,
Hi! Just curious if you still have the Muncie transmission for sale? Please let me know, I’m looking for one for my next build, a 1966 El Camino 396 big block, it’s a pretty rare car, but the Engine/trans was gone long ago.
Thanks!

Dave,
It may be a while before I can muster the cash for the trans, and it may be gone before that, and thats ok.

On another note, I see you have an ITM four speed shifter listed, or is it sold? If not, how much are you asking for all the rods/swivels/levers/shifter together?
Let me know.

Ben,
Apparently the member from Washington State is still interested in the 4-spd. Muncie. My friend who has pickup truck will be back from Florida in Early April to help me bring the boxed up transmission the the UPS store to ship to Washington.

What are the prices listed in my ads that I advertised the ITM shifter parts for in the Swap Meet Section? I do not think that the ITM shifter p[arts will worm on a Muncie.
