For Sale: A Used Bumper Jack Cover, GM # 3984010 for 1970-1973 Camaro models. I bought this at a swap meet in the 1990's since I needed one at the time.
The cover is in poor condition as it appears that the cover had been sanded with coarse sand paper as shown in the photos and the spray painted. The cover is also missing the end tab.

$8 for the Used 3984010 cover plus shipping and PayPal fee (if applicable).
Note: I do combine shipping for other parts purchased within a 2 month period.
If interested, SEND ME A PM and SPECIFY ITEM #1 and the DATE of my Ad.

hi,
if the bumper cover doesn't sell let me know,

what i'm looking for is a bumper jack/stand for my 73 Z
thanks
rick
Rick,
I still have about 40 or more bumper jacks in my collection but not sure if I still have an original one for the 1973 Camaro. I sold an original 1973 Camaro jack several years ago, 34.5"+/- shaft made by Universal (stamped "UN"). I do not have any more 1970-1973 jack hooks (aka, load rest) but I'm sure that I have the correct 1973 base with the "U" stamping which is similar to the 1970-1972 which has no markings. I will check in the next few days to see if I have any 34.5"+/- "UN" shafts with a date code for the 1973.

I'm not sure if the 1973 Camaro models were ever issued the "square cross section" bumper jack shafts with "square hole" bases made by the Walker Manufacturing Co. as these jacks were issued to 1970 Camaro models made in Van Nuys, CA. The "California" jack shafts and bases are listed as GM # 3994700 & 3756292 in the 1970-1973 assembly manuals. I think that I still have a 34" long California jack shaft (no date code) with base and 1969 Chevelle jack hook that I bought on Ebay about 20 years ago from California.

Starting tomorrow the temperature will get below zero in New England for a couple of days so it may be a few days before I get back to with a PM.

For Sale: Rebuilt 1970 Distributor stamped "1111500" and "0 A 29" (Jan. 29, 1970) on the housing. I bought the distributor at a swap meet decades ago and was told it was rebuilt. The distributor has aftermarket points and condenser and there is a red stamp with the number "4 78" (or maybe it is "4 79") which I assume represents Apr. 1978 (or Apr. 1979) when the distributor was rebuilt (see photo #9). The springs which attach the weights are green as shown in photo #6. The GM # 1111500 distributor was not a production line distributor as it was sold only over the counter at Chevrolet dealerships as per my vintage Chevrolet parts catalogs for 1964-1968 Chevrolet models (see photo #10).

NOTE: This particular distributor has the "536 CCW" cam and the very common 1881371 weights. Based on my research the 1111500 distributor used the "532 CCW" cam. The "536 CCW" cam was used on the GM # 1112002 distributors for All 1970 Chevrolet models with A.T., 350 eng. (exc. H/Per.). My guess is that this distributor was intended for this model just mentioned by the rebuilder.

The distributor is missing the cam lubricator wick (GM # 1949084) as well as the vacuum control. I can provide a used wick from a used distributor, if necessary. Aftermarket vacuum controls are available at any auto parts store.

$20 for the rebuilt distributor plus shipping and Paypal fee (if applicable).
If interested, SEND ME A PM and SPECIFY ITEM # 15.

For Sale: Original Used 1970-1971 Grill, GM # 3967175, as listed in my 1970 Camaro Assembly Manual (UPC 11/13, Sheet A4). Note: There are 3 different areas of damage on the grill as shown in the photos. I assume that these areas can be repaired somehow. Any 1970-1971 grill can be converted to a Z28 and SS grill by simply painting it black after repairs are made. The 1970 Z28 grill was never sold over the counter. This is how I bought the grill at a swap meet years ago at a swap meet in the 1990's. The damaged area as shown in photo #7 was covered over with a large piece of duct tape with the low price by the shady seller. Unfortunately, I did not check out the grill in close enough.

3 options:

Free
if picked up in Merrimack, NH, by 02/28/2023.
or
$10
for the Used Grill plus shipping and Paypal fee (if applicable).
or
Out with the trash on 03/01/2023.

If interested, SEND ME A PM and SPECIFY ITEM #2 in 2023.

For Sale: N.O.R.S. (New Old Replacement Stock) AC Delco Speedometer Cable, GM # 88959478 in Gr. 4.342 as well as a reproduction firewall grommet.

The cable came in an AC Delco wrapper that I opened only measure it. The casing measures 78". The overall length measure 78 1/4" to 78 1/2" allowing for 1/4" of "wiggle room". As shown in photo #5 the length of the cable is listed as 77.8" long.

The reproduction 3792008 firewall grommet measures 1 1/2" in diameter.
Refer to the 1970 Assembly Manual for the part number of the grommet and speedometer cables.
UPC 12, Sheet C3: 2 piece speedometer cable 6478024 & 6478028 with production grommet 3792008
UPC D55, Sheet B5: A.T. speedometer cable 6478027 with production grommet
UPC M20,M21,M22, Sheet A11: 4-Speed M.T. speedometer cable 6478026 with production grommet
UPC M38, Sheet C10: 3-Speed A.T. speedometer cable 6478027 with production grommet

The 1970 Camaro w/Muncie 4-Speed used the 6478026 with a "CK" tag attached to it and I believe that the length was 76" long as per my research. The service replacement was GM # 6478224 (AC # CC411).
My 1972 Chevrolet Parts Catalog (Jan. 1972) lists the 6478179 (76" O.L.) for the 70 Camaro w/4-Spd.
As per GM Parts History GM # 6478179 was replaced by GM # 6480237 (AC # CC814) in Dec. 1980 which was then replaced by GM # 25033402

NOTE: The buyer should check to see if this cable is a suitable length for his or her car.
Summit sells the GM 55959478 cable for $50.99 while Amazon sells it for $37.94.

For more information refer to the 2 ORIGINAL DRIVELINE TOPICS listed below:
"70 Z28 part # speedometer cable question" started on 05/19/2009
