For Sale: Nice Used 1979 Camaro/Firebird Bumper Jack dated "9A09" as shown in photo #5 (Jan. 9, 1979). The shaft measures about 32 3/8" long. The letter "H" is stamped on the blue jacking mechanism along with "OIL MECH. AFTER USE". The up-down lever is stamped "UP" with an arrow and "U" (for Universal Tool Co., the manufacturer).

The blue base is stamped "U" with a 1/2" diameter hole. It should probably be media blasted and then repainted.

The lug wrench is in good useable condition as it just just needs to be re-painted.
The measured dimensions of this lug nut wrench are as follows: long section about 17 5/8", short section about 4 3/4", diagonal measures about 19 5/16" C/C, and with the interior angle measuring about 103 degrees. The lug head has the letter "O" (see photo #10).
There is a letter "O" on the lug head. According to my 1980 Chevrolet Parts catalog (June 1980) the part number for the lug wrench listed for All 1976-1981 models using the 3/4" hex wrench is 326740 in Gr. 8.821. According to GM parts History for parts sold over the counter GM # 326740 was replaced by GM # 474473 in the early 1980's which was then replaced by GM # 14036400.

Note: Potential buyer should do their own research to see if this jack is correct for their car.

$75 for the used 1979 jack shaft asm., base. and lug wrench as shown in the photos below plus shipping cost and PayPal fee (if applicable).

For Sale: Used 1970-1972 & 1973 Camaro Bumper Jack Base, GM # 3866476, and 1974-1981 Camaro Bumper Jack Base stamped "U", GM # 329747. These bases are for bumper jacks made by the Universal Tool Co. (stamped "UN" or maybe just "U" on the up-down lever on the jacking mechanism).

Photo #1 & #2: The base on the left side is technically correct for 1970-1972 Camaro models as it has the 2 slots, no stampings, and measures about 2 3/16" in height. The 1973 Camaro base is the same but also has the letter "U" stamped on the front.
The base on the right side, GM # 329747, is for 1974-1981 Camaro models and is stamped "U" on the front and measures about 2 1/2" in height. Some of these bases have a 1/2" hole on the front and some do not. If you want the answer to why just write to GM or the Universal Tool Co. but good luck with that.
GM # 329747 was replaced by GM # 14016964 sometime between Jan. 1981 and Aug. 1985 as per GM Parts History and my Aug. 1985 GM Price Schedule. Note in photo # 4 that GM # 14016964 is listed for 1976-1979 F body models ("F" = Camaro or Firebird) as well. GM # 14016964 is almost identical to GM # 329747 except it has a vertical tab on the back side of the "keystone" (or trapezoidal) hole. According to my other vintage Chevrolet & Pontiac parts catalogs the "keystone" hole measures 1.20" X 0.75" X 1.28" long. Potential buyers should do their own research and check their Camaro assembly manuals for the base part number correct for their car. The 1974 Camaro Assembly Manual lists GM # 329747 as the part number for the jack base.

I cleaned the 1970-1972 base as shown in photos #5 - #8 with my wire wheel to clean off the paint and surface rust. There are some tiny specks of pitting (see photos #5 - #8) which possibly just be filled with primer paint and then final coat of paint, gray for 1970 models and black for 1971-1973 models.

The 1974-1981 base as shown in photos #9 - #11 is in good condition, just needs a re-paint to whatever color is for for the car. The blue base in item #21 is GM # 329747 for a 1979 Camaro or Firebird.

$25 for the Used 1970-1972 jack base plus shipping and Paypal fee (if applicable).

For Sale: Original 34 1/2" long Camaro Bumper Jack Shaft Assembly dated "0G" on the rivet head (July 1970) made by the Universal Tool Company ("UN"). This jack assembly is the correct length for very late 1970 Camaro models (July and August 1970) assembled in Norwood, Ohio. The shaft can also be used on 1971-1973 Camaro models.
The top of the shaft is stamped "PATENT 3163925". The up-down lever is stamped "UN" along with a large "UP" with an arrow.

The bumper jack shaft is in good condition without any pitting from the surface rust and flaky yellow cadmium plating that I buffed off with my wire wheel. The jacking mechanism appears to have been painted as the top coat of gray paint is slightly darker than the original gray paint. The original finish on the shaft was yellow cadmium plating. The shaft should somehow protected from surface rust with yellow cadmium plating or even spray paint.

$100 for the used 34 1/2" late 1970 Camaro jack shaft assembly dated "0G" plus shipping cost and PayPal fee (if applicable).

If interested, SEND ME A PM and SPECIFY ITEM # 23.

NOTE:
I have a 1970-1972 Camaro base (2 3/16" high) for "UN" bumper jacks advertised in item #22 as as well as "early" 1970 bases which currently are not advertised and do not have the 2 slots. The 1974-1981 bases stamped "U" (2 1/2" high) can also be used with this shaft but technically are not correct.

For Sale: Original 33 7/16" long Bumper Jack Shaft dated "0B" (Feb. 1970) made by the Universal Tool Company ("UN") and original "early" 1970 base without the oblong holes.
I bought this jack assembly about 20 years ago on Ebay in search of an original 1970 Camaro bumper jack. It came with a double pin hook stamped "CAMARO 1970 UN" but I sold the hook ago after I determined that this jack shaft was not the "correct" length for a 1970 Camaro with the "0B" date code. After extensive research over the years I determined that the correct length for a 1970 Camaro jack assembled in Norwood with date code "9M" to about "0E" (Dec. 1969 to about May 1970) is about 32 1/4" to about 32 3/4" long and that 1970 Camaro "UN" jacks dated "0F" and "0G" (June 1970 and July 1970) were about 34 1/4" to 34 3/4" long. The "0F" jack shafts could be 32.5"+/- or 34.5"+/- long as that seemed to be the transition month. This jack shaft is about 1" too long and the jacking mechanism as well as the base should be painted gray to be correct for a 1970 Camaro. The shaft should also have a yellow cadmium plating. Based on my extensive research I believe this jack was originally from a 1970 full size Ford.

The bumper jack shaft is in good condition except for some very minor pitting on one edge about 7 1/2" to 9 1/2" from the bottom end as shown in photo #3. The other side of the shaft is without any pitting. The bottom factory "stops" are punched about 2 1/2" or so from the bottom of the shaft unlike the "stops" on an "early" 1970 Camaro jack shaft dated "9M" (Dec. 1969) that I still have in my collection which are punched about 1 7/8" from the bottom end. The 5/8" long oval hole is punched 3 1/2" to 4 1/8" from the bottom end. The top of the shaft is stamped "PATENT 3163925". The up-down lever is stamped "UN" along with a large "UP" with an arrow.

NOTE: I am not really sure when the oblong holes were added to the base for "UN" jacks. I have a few 1970-1972 bases still in my collection with the oblong holes that I could substitute for the base without the oblong holes.

$40 for a SUITABLE REPLACEMENT 1970 Camaro "0B" bumper jack shaft and base as shown in the photos plus shipping and PayPal (if applicable).

If interested, SEND ME A PM and SPECIFY ITEM # 26.

For Sale: Original 34 5/8" long Camaro Bumper Jack Shaft Assembly dated "1J" on the rivet head (Sept. 1971) made by the Universal Tool Company ("UN"). This jack assembly is the correct length for an early 1972 Camaro models assembled in Norwood, Ohio. The shaft assembly can also be used on 1970-1973 Camaro models even though most all 1970 Camaro "UN" jack shafts measure about 32 1/4" to 32 3/4" long with a jacking mechanism painted gray.
The top of the shaft is stamped "PATENT 3163925" shown upside down in photo #2 but is a bit faint. The up-down lever is stamped "UN" along with a large "UP" with an arrow.

The bumper jack shaft is in fair to good condition with some pitting located on one side of the shaft as shown in photo # 6. I had cleaned the shaft assembly with my wire wheel to remove most of the surface rust. I removed most all of the black paint off the jacking mechanism with my wire wheel to a nice clean surface ready for new black paint (photos # 3, #8, and # 9. The original finish on 1970-1973 "UN" jack shafts was yellow cadmium plating. The pitting as shown in photo #6 can be filled with "Metal-2-Metal" or some other suitable filler but then should somehow be protected from surface rust with yellow cadmium plating or even spray paint which is much cheaper.

$40 for the used 34 5/8" early 1972 Camaro jack shaft assembly dated "1J" as shown in the photos plus shipping cost and PayPal fee (if applicable).

For Sale: Used original 1970-1972 Camaro Bumper Jack Base, GM # 3866476 in fair condition. This base is for bumper jacks made by the Universal Tool Co. (stamped "UN" on the up-down lever on the jacking mechanism).

The base is correct for 1970-1972 Camaro models except the very early 1970 Camaro models (columns stamped "9M" and maybe "0A") as it has the 2 slots, no stampings, and measures about 2 3/16" in height.

I cleaned the 1970-1972 base with my wire wheel to clean off the paint and surface rust but it still shows pitting (not deep at all) from rust. I believe that media blasting and some "body work" with "Metal-2-Meta" or some other filler will bring it back to life....gray paint for 1970 models and black paint for 1971-1972 models.

$10 for the Used 1970-1972 jack base as shown in the photos plus shipping and Paypal fee (if applicable).

For Sale: Used original base that is correct for "early" 1970 Camaro, Nova, Chevelle, and Chevrolet models as it has does not have the 2 slots. This base measures about 2 3/16" in height and is for jack columns with "UN" "(Universal Tool Co.) stamped on the up-down lever.

I cleaned this early 1970 base with my wire wheel to clean off much of the black paint and minimal surface rust. The base was removed from an "early" 1970 Chevelle decades ago. All that it needs is to be sanded and painted gray for early 1970 Camaro & Nova models or black for early 1970 Chevelle & Chevrolet models.

$25 for the Used early 1970 jack base as shown in the photos plus shipping and Paypal fee (if applicable).

For Sale: Original 34 1/2" long Camaro Bumper Jack Shaft Assembly made by the Universal Tool Company ("UN"). This jack assembly is the correct length for late 1970 and 1971-1973 Camaro models assembled in Norwood, Ohio.
The up-down lever is stamped "UN" along with a large "UP" with an arrow. This shaft has a date code of "6G08" (July 8, 1976) located about 2" to 2 1/2" from the bottom end of the shaft. I assume that this jack shaft assembly was possibly a service jack (possibly GM # 3920032) sold over the counter at a dealership in 1976 or 1977 because this jack shaft assembly uses a removable jack hook (aka, load rest). It seems to me that 1974 and newer models did not use a jack hook (aka, load rest) as there was just a slot in the bumpers.

The bumper jack shaft is in good condition without any pitting from rust. Years ago I had cleaned the shaft assembly with my wire wheel to remove any light surface rust. I also removed some of the black paint off the jacking mechanism with my wire wheel. The original finish on original 1970-1973 "UN" jack shafts was yellow cadmium plating. The jacking mechanism needs to be re-painted (black for 1971-1973 Camaro models and gray for 1970 Camaro models. The shaft should somehow be protected from surface rust with yellow cadmium plating or even spray paint which is much cheaper.

One other difference when compared to a 1970-1973 shaft is that there is a 1/4" X 11/16" slot located at the bottom of the shaft. The 1970-1973 shafts just have a 1/4" diameter hole instead.

$40 for the used 34 1/2" bumper jack dated "6G08" as shown in the photos plus shipping cost and PayPal fee (if applicable).
