I think all these features encourage people to be lazier, dumber and get away with no consequence when they do stupid things. No impression is made upon them so, they do it again and again until somebody gets hurt.
Taking control of your car and being responsible for its operation has taken a backseat to cellphones, makeup and generally being a selfish dick on the roadway.
    That's my $0.02.

This is not grumpy, you are just oversensitive.:p

Now news has come out that a recent Lion Air crash may have been caused by an automatic system that the crew was fighting. They were trying to climb and it kept making the aircraft dive. Whether it was misused or a technical glitch, it caused a fairly new aircraft that was state of the art to crash.

My wife has a Buick too(Lacrosse) and I finally figured out how to turn off that easy exit seat control....every time I turned the engine off it crammed the seat up towards the front, shoving my knees into the dash.

You can turn off the Ford start stop restart crap.
I have never owned a car that had anti lock brakes Hope I never do.
None of my cars have cruise control. I have not even hooked up my heater cores in my old cars yet for winter.
I need to though.. a bit chilly in them and I need it for keeping ice off the windshield.

I never owned a vehicle that automatically locks the doors..That I really hate.
Yep I like my old cars.
I am not grumpy though..I just like and dislike some things.

I want to do things myself.
That includes building my own engine and trans and porting my own heads and I even stitch my own interior and do my own paint and body work.
Some of us are old school and like thinking and doing things our self.

If my aunt had balls would she be my uncle? These are opinions in this post, and I do believe we are entitled to them here in America. Uh, this is America, isn't it? Besides, if we all liked the same thing, we'd all be chasing the same women around. Call it "grumping" if you want. What I see here is people grumping about grumping, which is the same. Just a different thing to grump about.
