I quit following NASCAR years ago when the cars quit being STOCK cars. I can see special chassis for safety, no problem there. The cars aren't cars but car shaped things. Even when the car company didn't make a 2 door in a model, there would be a 2 door looking body raced for aerodynamics.

The only racing I'll watch is Rally Car racing. At least there you have to be able to drive. Driving in a circle, where's the talent in that?

It is a joke only if you watch it. Why do that?

Wait....you mean to tell me there are other races besides Talladega and Daytona? Wow.
Those are the only 4 I watch each year.

This is going to be an issue that will haunt NASCAR. Most folks on the board know that I dislike Kyle Busch, but I'd feel the same if it had been any other driver.

From Pete Pistone - NASCAR Columnist:

I haven't cared for any form of the Chase - it's convoluted at best.

Below is how the Championship would have ended using the original format for determining a Champion:

    1) #4-Kevin Harvick(C1), 1321
    2) #22-Joey Logano(EC), 1299, -22
    3) #2-Brad Keselowski(EC), 1217, -104
    4) #88-Dale Earnhardt Jr. (EC), 1198, -123
    5) #78-Martin Truex Jr.(C4), 1165, -156
    6) #48-Jimmie Johnson(EC), 1155, -166
    7) #11-Denny Hamlin(EC), 1117, -204
    8) #24-Jeff Gordon(C2), 1110, -211
    9) #41-Kurt Busch(EC), 1108, -213
    10) #19-Carl Edwards(EC), 1108, -213
    11) #1-Jamie McMurray(EC), 1052, -269
    12) #31-Ryan Newman(EC), 1052, -269
    13) #20-Matt Kenseth(EC), 1046, -275
    14) #27-Paul Menard(EC), 972, -349
    15) #43-Aric Almirola, 940, -381
    16) #5-Kasey Kahne, 939, -382
    17) #15-Clint Bowyer(EC), 891, -430
    18) #42-Kyle Larson, 872, -449
    19) #16-Greg Biffle, 869, -452
    20) #18-Kyle Busch(C3), 867, -454
    21) #3-Austin Dillon, 832, -489
    22) #47-AJ Allmendinger, 758, -563
    23) #13-Casey Mears, 754, -567
    24) #10-Danica Patrick, 716, -605
    25) #9-Sam Hornish Jr., 709, -612

As Pete points out in the last paragraph of the quote above, I don't fault Kyle for his winning the Championship.

However, Pete did fail to note that NASCAR made the decision to give him a waiver allow him to compete in the first place. That puts the issue squarely on NASCAR.

I have to admit, the whole season turned into a big turd yesterday. Too bad the series has gotten so soft and predictable. Just when I thought I was relieved Darryl Waltrip was done running his mouth, I realized Kyle Petty is equally as annoying.

Restrictor plate racing I totally understand as a safety issue for super speedways . Can't believe people still argue , bitch & complain . The point of using such a device . Have you ever thought what an unrestricted cup car would run at Daytona or Talledega ??

Would you want to see a unrestricted 4k lbs Cup car run 220mph plus with mere inches between competitors cars . You've seen what a restricted car can do to the safety fences at Daytona and Talladega now imagine at speeds of 230 mph or more

Now let's talk about the aero issues at these tracks , you can unsettle another car just by getting close enough to take the air off the spoiler . It doesn't take much now to spin a competitor out and never touch their car

Also people bitch , argue & complain about how the cars should run either pack racing or 1-5 cars running together or by themselves

Just for s*** & giggles let's here how you would like to see NASCAR run their Cup cars at the Super Speedways with 4k lbs cars at 200mph and not have or see the " Big One" or take out large sections of catch fencing . Also keep the racing interesting not boring

Oh just one last thing Indy Cars have been experiencing bad wrecks lately at super speedways and some tracks they don't want to race at without major safety improvements

I was a huge Nascar fan at one time. Now I can take it or leave it.
If I sit down and it's on I may or may not watch it. I stopped recording it long ago.
Nascar is now past it's peak and on a downhill slide.

    F1 I never miss.
