I generally buy batteries from Blain's Farm & Fleet -
their "house brand" batteries are manufactured by Johnson Controls.
I've had good luck with them.

Ill be needing a battery soon so I googled high rated batteries and saw a battery brand that I'd never seen before- Odyssey batteries. They're expensive but they're apparently pretty good!

I think Odyssey is an AGM battery made by East Penn??

Googled it- nope, East Penn is OEM for Deka, was confusing them with Odyssey (made in MO and UK apparently).

^^^^^I used to use them [deka/oddessy] in my material handling trucks and man lifts, both great quality, but price was way more than I would spend for a daily/any regular vehicle,
77 ThorI may give a farm and fleet a chance, but they never seem to have more than 2 checkers, and I'm not waiting THAT long to give them my money [walk out way more than I ever buy] If I didn't drive past the Waukesha store on my way to/from work I'd never stop-used to go there all the time, not much anymore sadly-Rant off :Later Steve!!

This thread is a jinx, I've had to change the batteries in both of my cars since it came up. The batteries in the wife's and boy's cars better not go on the fritz. :whine:

One of the prices you need to pay for living with all that oppressive heat down there. Cold is good for batteries - they last a lot longer up here...;)

Probably not a jinx. Just your time. As I stated earlier, all batteries die eventually. If you get one that beats the odds and lasts a little longer, smile. If yours dies sooner than you think it should, frown.

Cold might not be as hard on a battery as heat, but the first -20 morning each Winter will sort out the batteries that were reaching end of life by leaving you dead on the road.
