I had Discount Tire put on some new tires last week on my Ram 2500. They snapped a stud, but they would cover to have a shop do the repair, I would have to make an appointment , wait, yadda yadda. I don’t trust most shops so I did it myself. well I take the wheel off to find the ground off the powder coating on the mounting face of the wheel, and used hammer on wheel weights instead of stick on. These are $325 rims, I live in Chicago, they use salt in the winter, my concern is that bare aluminum is now going to corrode and travel under the powder coat which will flake off. What do you think my options are as far as recourse with Discount Tire?
It seems to me their employees are being rushed to keep up with the demand of customers and they are not caring for our vehicles. I have also had them screw up one of my truck wheel studs. They did schedule me an appointment at one of their associated shops and they did fix it. I still buy my tires ar Discount Tire.
Must be a trend with discount tires.... they break probably a dozen wheel studs a week and send them to be replaced at the shop next to us.
